Q: What drew you to Wellness Minneapolis?
A: I found Wellness Minneapolis while doing research online about holistic centers in the Twin Cities. What really drew me to Wellness Minneapolis was the many different services provided, a welcoming environment and friendly staff. Eventually, my goal is to practice holistic health coaching, so when I found Wellness Minneapolis, I knew I would be a good fit and would be able to learn so much!
Q: What are your interests in holistic medicine?
A: I’m incredibly intrigued in what food can do to the body as medicine. I love learning about whole foods and a plant-based diet and how it can heal the body. I’m interested in learning about nourishing the body to live a long, disease-free life.Q: What gets you out of bed in the morning?
A: Apart from the fact that I’m not great at sleeping in, spending time in the kitchen, working out and spending time with my partner keep me going. I’m also very hard working, so waking up to come to Wellness Minneapolis is a great reason to wake up in the morning! I thrive to learn and grow from every encounter and interaction throughout my day, so I wake up looking forward to what I can learn from the day.
Q: What are you currently working on in your life?
A: Myself. I’m always trying to grow and better myself. Also, I’m working on my relationships with others – hoping that fine-tuning myself helps to fine-tune my encounters with others. Apart from that, I am hoping to go back to school for a Master’s degree sometime in my near future, so working on finding programs that float my boat.
Q: What is your favorite breakfast item/food/beverage/dish?
A: Food is probably my favorite food. I love food. I love cooking, creating recipes and eating. I eat a plant-based diet and am very mindful about what I eat. Thai food is my favorite cuisine to both cook and eat out at a restaurant. I’m a big “foodie,” so I really enjoy trying new local restaurants with my boyfriend. I once told a friend, “I’m not a picky eater.” He replied, “You’re vegan. By default, a picky eater.” I said, “No, if it’s vegan, I’ll eat it!”
Q: How do you spend your free time?
A: When I’m not working, I like to travel, read, cook, spend time with family, friends and my boyfriend. We enjoy exploring the Twin Cities together, especially going to microbreweries and local restaurants and coffee houses. I enjoy going to work out and practicing yoga. I have a vegan recipe Instagram account that I am constantly trying to test out new recipes for and accumulate the best ones for a future cookbook!
