Join us April 4th for an Artist's Reception from 5-7PM.
Lucy Comer is an Illustrator based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her work focuses on stories of longing, intimacy, and heartache. She loves creating portraits, sequential illustrations, and zines.
She received her BFA in Illustration from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2019. Her work has been featured in publications such as the Oakland Arts Review and the Morrison Abstract. Selected clients include Pollen Midwest and National Alliance on Mental Illness Minnesota.
The group of work being shown is largely comprised of illustrations from her senior project at MCAD which accumulated into a 48 page self published book called Heartaches + Mess Ups + Playlists. For this project, Comer edited and illustrated three people’s stories of their teenage experience. Wanting to celebrate, and to give weight and importance to all events, whether it be family death, ritual sleepovers or the joys of where a bike can take you. Excerpts from this book can be found at her website, lucycomer.com.
You can keep up with her art on instagram @loosey.comber.
