Naturopathic Medicine with Dr. jones

At this time, all services with Dr. Jones are being conducted virtually.
I love taking the time to listen to patients, understand their health history, and offer comprehensive and compassionate care so that patients feel empowered to take control of their own health.
Dr. Jones, a Pacific Islander cis-female with dark wavy brown hair smiling and wearing a turquoise cardigan.
As a naturopathic doctor, I greatly enjoy working with people who are feeling “stuck” on their path to wellness, whether patients are struggling with a chronic disease that has not been adequately addressed by conventional medicine, or they are someone who wants to optimize their diet and lifestyle so that they can live a long, fruitful, healthy life. I have a passion for all modalities that naturopathic medicine has to offer including lifestyle counseling, botanical medicine, and nutrition. I love taking the time to listen to patients, understand their health history, and offer comprehensive and compassionate care so that patients feel empowered to take control of their own health. I try to practice “root cause medicine”, meaning that rather than eliminating or merely suppressing someone’s symptoms, I try to remove the underlying cause of illness.

I have expertise in mental health and see patients with conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD. Another focus of my practice is women’s health, and I see women with “problem periods”, PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, and menopause. I also see patients with digestive concerns, endocrine disorders, autoimmune disease, cardiovascular issues, skin conditions, and more.

I earned my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine at National College of Natural Medicine (now National University of Natural Medicine) in Portland, OR in 2016. During my clinical education I worked in a diverse range of practice settings and completed rotations in primary care, transgender medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, and dermatology. I also completed a year-long rotation in naturopathic mental health in conjunction with Pacific University of Oregon’s Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinic.

After finishing my degree, I completed a rigorous year-long primary care & teaching residency at National University of Natural Medicine Health Centers in Portland, OR. I then moved to Southern California to open a private practice, before relocating to Minnesota in 2019.

Initial Consultation
Once you've made an appointment, you'll be asked to fill out health information prior to the appointment. Bring any recent lab work, imaging, or health records to your visit.

On your first visit, your naturopathic doctor will conduct a comprehensive evaluation that explores:
  • Current health concerns
  • Medical history
  • Dietary habits
  • Lifestyle
This allows your doctor to gain complete understanding of your present condition and the root cause of your symptoms. They will also help you to identify your future health goals. From there, you will work together to create a plan that is customized to your lifestyle, budget, and beliefs toward health, healing and total body wellness. Future visits will provide the opportunity to assess your progress, address any of your concerns, and modify your plan as needed.

This evaluation is critically important to understand all the aspects of your health. Your doctor will also assess your risk for heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, etc., and develop a treatment plant to help prevent these chronic illnesses.

Annual Exam with Pap
This visit includes a physical exam, PAP and breast exam. The cost of the PAP is included in the cost of the visit. Additional testing such as STI testing will incur extra costs. Once you've made an appointment, you'll be asked to fill out health information prior to the appointment. Bring any recent lab work, imaging, or health records to your visit.

Follow-up Visit
The first follow-up appointment with your doctor is typically 4-6 weeks after your first office visit and lasts 45-60 minutes. Your provider will discuss the results of any new lab work that has been ordered with you, and go over how your current treatment plan is progressing and, if necessary, changes will be made based on your lab results and experience with the treatment plan so far.

Check-in/Questions Phone Session
This 15-minute phone session is designed for established patients who have questions about their treatment plan between appointments. If you have not seen your provider in more than three months please schedule a follow-up visit.

Testimonials

I really enjoyed my first visit with Dr. Katherine Jones.  I was so impressed with the Holistic direction taken toward health.  I have been thinking about seeing a Naturopathic doctor for a long time and I am so glad I am finally taking this route to figure out my health issues.
Dr. Jones is excellent! It's so refreshing to have a doctor that takes the time to hear your whole story instead of rushing you into a diagnosis and treatment. My other doctors have always just offered me a medication for my symptoms, but I've been wanting to avoid medications for sleep and anxiety because of the side effects. Dr. Jones listened and asked a lot of questions before telling me my options, and she went into a lot of detail about what she was recommending and why. She really cares about finding long-term solutions rather than masking symptoms. Dr. Jones is very knowledgeable and has been a pleasure to work with. I've already gotten so much better! I can't recommend her enough!
I've been working with Dr. Jones on my stress and sleeping issues for the past few months and it's amazing how much better I feel. Dr. Jones is very easy to talk to, and has been very thorough with laying out all my options. I highly recommend Dr. Jones to anyone that wants to feel better.
Friends who live in Minnesota who are looking for medical care I highly recommend Dr. Jones. She is a very smart doctor who is all about treating the root of the problem and not just the symptoms.
