Rita White, DPT, IHP
she/her/hers
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and have been practicing since 2013. I believe an integrative approach to physical therapy is key to helping patients feel their best. I was disenchanted with the traditional physical therapy methods that only allow for treatment of one body part at a time and have set out to provide a holistic approach integrating the mind, body and soul. I believe everyone’s body has the innate ability to heal under the right conditions and I am passionate about helping patients uncover what works best for them.

My background is in orthopedic physical therapy and I also have training as an Integrative Health Practitioner, which has allowed me to widen my scope to provide a more holistic approach to healing. I specialize in treating patients with chronic illness, persistent pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction. I apply a whole-body mindset to every visit, as I recognize the connection between stressors and physical manifestations. Under this approach, I strive to restore balance to the body by focusing on foundational aspects of wellness that are integral to health.

PHYSICAL THERAPY Services

Integrative Physical Therapy allows for a whole body approach to wellness. Physical therapists are movement specialists who strive to restore physical function and mobility. They specialize in treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. An integrative PT evaluation involves the assessment of posture, strength, mobility and functional movement patterns, as well as assesses wellness habits such as sleep, nutrition, and stress management. I believe in taking a foundational approach to healing which builds upon traditional practices to also include breathwork, balancing stability and mobility, postural alignment and addressing the nervous system with integration of functional movement patterns to build a stronger, more resilient body.  These treatments will involve hands-on manual therapies, education, and exercise and home program prescription customized for you.

Physical Therapy Initial Evaluation
The initial evaluation will consist of a comprehensive assessment, which involves collecting of information, setting goals, and completing a physical therapy examination to help address the root cause of the issue. If appropriate, physical therapy treatment will be performed that day.

Physical Therapy Treatment Session
Physical therapy treatment will consist of a combination of hands-on manual therapies, education, and exercises customized to treat the individual. A home program will be given.

Physical Therapy Virtual Treatment Session
Virtual visits may be utilized for physical therapy treatment follow-ups in order to progress education and exercise if physically coming to the clinic space is not feasible.

Physical Therapy Annual Examination
A physical therapy annual examination consists of a once a year, comprehensive assessment of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems, as well as lifestyle factors such as exercise, diet and stress to help you reach your movement goals, year after year.

Testimonials

I sought out Rita's help after being diagnosed with POTS, hypermobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and pelvic floor dysfunction on top of other ongoing chronic illnesses. Her understanding of these complex syndromes, combined with her ability to see and treat the bigger picture, has been invaluable in helping me heal. Rita is extremely knowledgeable, respectful, compassionate, and kind. She makes herself available for questions between appointments. She's always willing to do research and provide further information on topics we've discussed. I'm so glad she's on my health care team, and I would highly recommend her to anyone!
