Acupuncture with Jules Dirsa, LAc
Acupuncture services with Jules are available with COVID-prevention measures in place.
I am a licensed acupuncturist with many years of experience in both individual and community acupuncture. I am dedicated to the healing process of each of my clients, and meet each client where they are at in an open-hearted and non-judgmental way. I utilize gentle, effective treatments which pull from the tools of Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture, herbs, cupping) in order to help each client unlock the healing potential within themselves. I have a special interest in working with clients who have concerns related to fertility, acute and chronic pain, mental and emotional health regulation, and support during times of transition (such as gender transition, transition out of addictions, grief, aging and other major life changes). I strongly believe you can feel healthy at any age, at any size, and at any phase of life.
I have also trained intensively in the Milagros Energywork Tradition, and am currently undergoing training in Reiki. I can incorporate energy work into acupuncture treatments, or as a stand alone service, upon request. I am trans-identified (he/him pronouns), and love working with other trans and gender non-conforming people, as well as others from the LBGTQ family. |
Prior to entering the field of acupuncture and TCM in 2009, I worked for several years as an advocate and case manager for youth experiencing homelessness in both San Francisco and Minneapolis/St Paul. Youth work led me to meet so many people who are still dear to my heart, and through many long nights, allowed me to learn much about resiliency, chosen family, harm reduction, trauma-informed care and the impact of the structural oppression on mental, physical and spiritual health.

Acupuncture + Cupping Services
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used forms of medicine in the world. Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of complementary medicine available.
A full-service acupuncture and Asian medicine appointment provides you with a holistic healing process that involves a comprehensive initial interview and treatment which will include acupuncture and one or more additional modalities including moxibustion, cupping, gua-sha, electrical stimulation, tuina, herbal and dietary therapy. These traditional treatments are performed in a private comfortable setting and pre-sterilized, single-use needles can be placed on the head, ears, torso, back, neck and shoulders, hips, and limbs. If you are looking for a more one-on-one, in-depth approach, this is the path for you.
Cupping has been a part of Chinese Medicine for over 2,500 years. It relieves aches and pains, improves circulation, and also helps with respiratory and digestive issues. Glass cups create a suction that draws Qi and Blood to the surface of the affected part of the body to officiate healing and pain relief. Cupping may be integrated into an acupuncture visit or scheduled as a separate appointment.
